The system uses a mobile, hand-held, full-featured fingerprint workstation with a forensic quality fingerprint scanner, pocket PC and digital camera, This compact unit can gather, store as well as provide on-the-spot access to identification and other information in the harshest environments with its rugged and shock proof housing. The compact unit weighs less than two pounds and can easily be held and operated with either hand. The unit is completely mobile and can be adapted to any wireless infrastructure including satellite.

Data is collected and entered into the system using handheld or “Field Units”, Tablet PC’s, or standard office computers.  Competech smartcards are used by all workers to ensure authorized access to secure locations like quarantine sites as well as to access and enter data.

Data is stored at the Competech Data Center and can be accessed by authorised individuals from anywhere in the world using the internet.  Data is managed through our highly secure web portal using specialized queries designed to a client’s exact specifications.  

Data is uploaded in real time using satellite internet access or by placing the unit in its base and batch sending from a remote site or office.
